Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Practical laboratory work and short block of lectures on laboratory safty .
Aim of the course is the acquisition of basic experimental techniques in chemistry and of basic skills for the safe handling of chemicals and laboratory equipment. The basic concepts of chemistry and knowledge on reactions of important elements and inorganic compounds are tought in 18 practical units.
Introduction into the basic working methods in a chemical laboratory, knowledge of the most important types of chemical reactions.

Assessment and permitted materials

The final evaluation comprises the performance and quality of the practical work, the keeping of the laboratory journal, as well as the examinations on Safety in the Laboratory, and the final examination.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Zur Beurteilung werden herangezogen:
Laborsicherheitsprüfung bis 22 Pkte
Praktische Beispiele: 18 mal 6 Pkte
Abschlussprüfung 100 Pkte
Gesamt: 230 Pkte maximal
Mindestkriterium sind a) bestandene Laborsicherheitsprüfung (11/22 Pkte) und b) 14 von 18 praktische Beispiele bestanden.
