Aims, contents and method of the course

Engrossing selected subjects from Didactics of Chemistry using concrete exampes
Emphasis will be set on the following:
Educational standards and competence orientation
Learning preconditions and individualisation
Inquiry-based learning
Get to know journals for science education
Aspects of good teaching
Models

Based on these topics you will plan a chemistry lesson and conduct it in school. The experiences will be reflected within the whole Group.

Assessment and permitted materials

Planning and conducting a chemistry lesson + reflective paper.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Detailed engagement with selected didactical questions.
Developing competence to plan and conduct competence orientated chemistry lessons.
Ability to critically reflect chemistry lessons.

Examination topics

Mixture of inputs from educators and students.
Lesson preparation and conduction in small working teams.
Linking theorie and practice.
