Aims, contents and method of the course

Modern and timely analytical strategies for the analysis of proteins particularly addressing glycosylation and other posttranslational modifications; strategies in proteomics and glycomics; impact of advanced electrophoretic, chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques, comparison to chip-based hybridization techniques, bioinformatic tools.
Evaluation: quality of oral presentation, competence in the discussion

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Discussion of modern strategies for the chemical analysis and characterization of biomolecules, particularly in the context of biotechnology and proteome research. Participants have to present a lecture within this seminar and to contribute to the discussion of the various topics.
