Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to prepare the students for the school practice and the appropriate accompanying seminar. In the course, the students learn about the current curricula for chemistry and natural sciences in the various school levels and types of schools. The corresponding competence models will be addressed. On the basis of important concepts of chemistry teaching, preconceptions as well as their exploration and treatment are discussed. Together, learning and examination tasks on various topics are created, developed and reflected.

* Analysis of specialized literature
* Presentations of the students followed by discussion
* Joint conception and development of teaching materials

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment of the course consists of the following elements:
* Presentation of student concepts on various topics including the preparation of a handout
* Written analysis of other students' learning and examination tasks
* Submission of a well developed own learning or examination task

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

* Continuous presence (maximum one unit may be missed) and active involvement
* Provision of all above-mentioned tasks
