Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Basic discussion of different analytical strategies and criteria for their assessment. Transducing chemical quantities in electrical data and digital acquisition and processing. The lecture focusses on fundamental electrochemical and optical procedures. The data obtained are subjected to error analysis by discussing the optimal criteria as the standard deviation and distribution curves.Fundamentals of chromatographic and electrophoretic separation principles, including their implementation into chromatography and electrophoresis analysis systems. The fundamentals of potentometry, voltametry and of electrochemical sensores as well as their analytical application will be discussed.
Assessment and permitted materials
Written exam. Each questionnaire consists of two parts. For passing the exam, you have to reach minimum 50% of the points in each of the two parts. It is not possible to repeat only failed parts. The next exams will be held: Wed, July 3rd, 1300-1600 and Wed, Sept. 25th, 1300-1600 in the lecture hall "Carl Auer von Welsbach" of the Faculty of Chemistry.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Basic insight into the assessment and the choice of analytical strategies.
Examination topics
Lecture. PowerPoint presentations distributed among students.
