Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture covers modern electorchemical detection methods, especiallyvoltammetry/polarography. Aside of applications, also thephysicochemical basics, such as electrochemical conversion, limitingcurrents, ... Furthermore, the lecture discusses different modernmethods, such as e.g. cyclovoltammetry, polarography, etc. Furthertopics include amperometry, coulometry and the application of all thesestrategies in modern analytical systems and sensors.
Assessment and permitted materials
Evaluation: oral examination. Date agreed upon individually.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Knowledge of modern electroanalytical methods and fundamental understanding of the underlying physico-chemical phenomena. For passing the exam you need to collect at least 50% of the possible points.
Examination topics
Overview of the physicochemical fundaments of voltammetric techniques and their application for analysis. Electrochemical sensing, electrochemical detectors.
Reading list
Students will have access to the pdf version of the presentation via Moodle, which contains all necessary information. In a nutshell, the course teaches voltammetry as presented in textbooks of analytical chemistry plus original research articles.
