Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Strategies for controlling selectivity in the context of sample preparation, analytical separation step and detection when using high performance separation techniques will be discussed. The lecture will particularly focus on a presentation of derivatisation concepts (fluorescence tags, mass spectrometry tags), chromatographic modes gaining in popularity (mixed-mode chromatography, hydrophilic interaction chromatography), multidimensional separation systems and various detection methodologies, each illustrated by examples closely related to practice.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Illustration of the role of "selectivity" in the development and optimisation of analytical methods based on high-performance separation techniques.
