- Thermodynamics and kinetics of chemicalreactions: transition state theory, Curtin-Hammett principal, kinetic vs. thermodynamic control,
- Investigations of reaction mechanisms, kinetic isotope effects
- Linear free enthalpie relationships (Hammett equation)
- Catalysis: Homogeneous vs. heterogeneous, kinetics of catalytic reactions
