Content: Basic principles of stereochemistry (nomenclature, chiral elements); Impact of stereochemistry on biological action; Stereochemistry of drug-protein interaction; Stereo-selectivity in pharmacodynamics; Stereoselectivity in pharmacokinetics including pharmacogenetics; Concepts of enantiomer separation; Indirect liquid chromatographic enantiomer separation; Enantioselective capillary electrophoresis (CE) and chiral selectors for CE; Direct liquid chromatographic enantiomer separation including discussion of chiral stationary phases; Gas chromatographic enantiomer separation; Applications of enantiomer separation methods.
