Aims, contents and method of the course

Optimization of HPLC and HPCE separations involving secondary equilibria, enantiomer separations, tryptic peptide mapping by HPLC-MS followed by protein identification via database retrieval
Requirements: basic knowledge on chromatography, electrophoresis and mass spectrometry,
Highly recommended: advanced courses on separation techniques and mass spectrometry
Evaluation: accuracy of results, standard of documentation, achieved competence

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To get practical experience in performing and optimizing HPLC and HPCE separations in the context of bio- and pharmaceutical-analysis, to learn about HPLC-MS hyphenation and to become familiar with modern strategies of protein identification and characterization.
