Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lectures will provide the basis to unterstand how relativistic effects not only modify the electronic and magnetic structure of solids, but can also lead to new physical phenomena. Particular emphasis will be on the connection to experiments, such as hyperfine measurements, x-ray magnetic circular dichroism, and photoemission. Techniques for calculating these quantities will also be covered.
