Aims, contents and method of the course
Stochastic chemical kinetics is used for a suitable description of processes at small particle numbers. Solution curves of conventional kinetics are replaced by time dependent probability distributions Pk(t) that express the probabilities to have exactly k particles at time t. The course presents an introduction into mathematical statistics, a discussion of mathematical modeling of stochastic processes as well as several illustrations by means of practical problems. Depending on request the course will be in English or in German with an English manuscript
