Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Eighteen selected experiments give a short introduction to the basic methods and concepts of general chemistry. The students are trained to understand solubility and precipitation, the formation of complexes, redox reactions and acid-base reactions. Two sessions are concerned with the measurement of electrode potentials, and the volumetric determination of gases. In a final step students are guided to identify various cations and anions in solution and simple solid substances by qualitative analysis
Assessment and permitted materials
