Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The discipline highlights recent advances in metals biological chemistry and its applications in biochemistry, biomedical sciences and environment. Advanced topics in chemistry and biochemistry of inorganic compounds, metal complexes and
nanoparticles, metalloproteins, biological functions, toxic and beneficial effects, and metal putative applications in medicine as well as their effects on the environment, are focused on the discipline. Moreover, one of the objectives of the course is also to understand the importance of bioinorganic chemistry as a special platform of knowledge for an interdisciplinary interaction with several areas of scientific research. The final information of the discipline results from the evaluation of the presentation of two articles from 2025 (40%) and from a final work based on these
two articles (60%), about a specific topic within the program of the discipline previously approved by the professor.
