Aims, contents and method of the course
A brief course of the History of Chemistry from the beginning through the Middle Ages up to today. A few interesting examples like the Alchemy, Phlogiston theory, periodic table, hybridisation of carbon. The history of important chemists Lavoisier, Liebig, and nobel laureates and of Austrian Chemists. A special emphasis is on women in Chemistry.
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral examination.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The lecture should present the development of chemistry from ancient times to alchemy to modern chemistry. The live and anecdotes of some important chemists will be presented. This should help chemistry teachers to make the classes for their pupils a little more interesting.
