Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This class will focus on the synthesis, characterization and properties of ordered microporous and mesoporous materials. This included zeolites, ordered mesoporous materials (OMMs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Basics concepts and definition regarding porous solids will be introduced. Synthesis tools for the preparation of nanoporous materials will be presented, including template-assisted synthesis, use of molecular/supramolecular structure-directing agents, nanocasting, templating towards multiscale porosity, phase-separation strategies, introduction of functionalities. Zeolites, MOFs, and OMMs will then be covered in detail, with modern research examples.
