Aims, contents and method of the course

Structural materials (refractory metals, solid solitions, precipitation hardened metals, transformation hardened metals, cast alloys, metallic glasses, refractory ceramics, silicates, cement, concrete, oxidic glasses, non oxide ceraics, hard metals, cermets, composites, dissimilar materials joining) Fuctional materials (metallic and ceramic electric conductors, insulators, semiconductors, capacitors, resistors, piezoelectrics, gas sensors; optical materials for light generation, absorption, transparency, detection, wave guides, image storage, mirrors, pigments; magnetic materials for permanent magnets, magneto optics, data storage)
