Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Monitoring of chemicals in technical and domestic domains cannot be imagined today without sensors. Process control opens up a broad range of applications and enables the regulation of technical syntheses. In this manner, observation and control of humidity or harmful substances at work and in domestic areas becomes more and more important. Further fields of application arise from food technology, where processes of fermentation can be standardized. Monitoring of all kinds of combustion processes is of vital importance in atmospheric chemistry, just as well as early detection of fire thereby reducing the formation of atmospheric pollutants. Another wide range for sensor technology is represented by motor vehicles, for instance the air quality in the in-cabin room, observation of oil degradation and optimization of combustion.

In medical science, invasive and non-invasive surveillance with sensors gain significance for prevention of consequential damage to people's health since these testings may be conducted at home and sent to control centres via mobile phone. For this purpose, the analysis of body fluids, blood and respiratory gases has to be pointed out in particular.
