After completing this practical course, students will understand the possible applications of mass spectrometry and will be able to address related questions on their own, to a certain extent.Content:
• Sample Preparation
• Working Principle of Different Mass Spectrometers
• Data Analysis
• Data Evaluation
Method:
• Theoretical overview & research question (real or fictional)
• Practical participation in a research project, e.g., qualitative and/or quantitative mass spectrometric analyses of complex samples (LC-ESI-MS, ICP-MS with/without LC or LA)
• Designing an experimental plan
• Sample preparation
• Measurement with modern mass spectrometers
• Evaluation of the obtained data (briefly together and then independently)
• Preparation of a report
