Aims, contents and method of the course
Naturally occurring radionuclides in air and drinking water will be discussed as well as artificial (or anthropogenic) nuclides in environmental samples due to global fallout or to the reactor accident in Chernobyl. Dose limits as well as radon remediation actions or methods for drinking water processing will be presented. Various methods for age determination and a very efficient procedure for controlling the authenticity of food will be introduced.

Introduction to natural as well as anthropogenic radionuclides present in our environment and their respective importance in the field of radiation protection.
