Attention: This field course "280016-1 EX MA-ERD-W-4.4 EX zu Groundwater and Pollutants" takes place in conjunction with the lab course "280015 LP MA-ERD-W-4.4 LP zu Groundwater and Pollutants". Students are requested to register for both courses as they cannot be taken separately.
The course will take place from July, 4th - 15th as in class (schedule below) as group work July, 18th - 29th.

Aims, contents and method of the course

The grading scheme is as follows:

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Required attendance at preparatory meeting, excursions and laboratory work.
The overall setting of the course is that the water quality at the field site (Lunz am See) is going to assessed. For this, the students will work on three part: Part 1. Hydrogeology /Groundwater
Sampling; Part 2. Sediment/Surface Water; Part 3. Organic pollutants from wastewater.
For each part, there will be a seminar, field and lab component. During the field parts, the students will learn about sampling, sample treatment, field parameters. The laboratory part will include nutrient analysis, inorganic water constituents, and organic trace analysis.
