Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students are able to recognize and describe geologic remains of glacial periods. They have basic knowledge of global and regional climate stratigraphy of the Quaternary and know about glacial palaeo-ecosystems, their fauna and flora and related environmental factors. Students are able to recognize and describe landforms; they can classify endogenic and exogenic geomorphological processes and know about their riscs. Students know different classicications of soils, important soil types and their properties.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written test, which is a combination of multiple choice and knowledge questions.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

For a positive degree, more than 50 % of the possible points in all three fields (geomorphology, quaternary geology and soil sciences) are necessary. In every field, 30 points are possible.

Examination topics

Content of the lecture. Learning documents are made available in Moodle.
