Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction how to use historical sources concerning biographical data of Austrian palaeontologists of 19th century. Guided tours through different libraries and archives. Introduction to the reading of "Kurrent" handwriting; students are expected to work out a detailed seminar paper referring to various biographical topics.
