Aims, contents and method of the course

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Modulziele: Die Studierenden kennen die Grundlagen der numerischen Modellierung und der statistischen Datenanalyse. Sie sind in der Lage geowissenschaftliche Problemstellungen mathematisch darzustellen und mit Hilfe geeigneter Verfahren und unter Verwendung einschlägiger Computerprogramme zu lösen. Insbesondere beherrschen sie die Verwendung gewöhnlichen und partiellen Differentialgleichungen und die numerischen Verfahren zu deren Lösung. Zudem haben sie anhand von praktischen Fragestellungen Erfahrung in der Anwendung statistischer Verfahren auf geowissenschaftliche Datensätze gesammelt.
