Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students will obtain a solid knowledge of methodological approaches in palaeobiology and how to apply this methods for analysing (1) phylogenetic interrelationships of organisms employing morphological and molecular data, (2) the completeness of the fossil record, (3) palaeobiogeographic relations, and (4) diversity and diversification patterns through time

Assessment and permitted materials

The course comprises npi and piportions. And will be conducted according to the pi rules.

Two continual assessments have to be completed (each 20 points) and a protocol has to be submitted.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course is successfully completed if each continual assessment is passed. Grading is proportional to the sum of achieved points from all continual assessments.

Unjustified absence during a continual assessments is evaluated each with 0 points. Only in exceptional cases, a separate alternate date for a failed continual assessment is possible.

General attendance is obligatory on the first day of the course. Registered and on the first day unfounded absent persons are permanently excluded from the course.
