Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students will obtain a solid knowledge of methodological approaches in palaeobiology and how to apply this methods for analysing (1) phylogenetic interrelationships of organisms employing morphological and molecular data, (2) the completeness of the fossil record, (3) palaeobiogeographic relations, and (4) diversity and diversification patterns through time

Assessment and permitted materials

The course comprises npi and piportions. And will be conducted according to the pi rules.

Two continual assessments have to be completed (each 20 points) and a protocol has to be submitted. For dates see above (Contents).

An additional examination will be offered on 18th Feb. 2019 for those who were not able to attend one of the continual assessments due to illness or other important reasons (need to be proved), or to compensate for a negative continual assessment. Please check for conflicts with other continual assessments.

The course is successfully completed if each continual assessment is passed with at least 24 points. Grading is proportional to the sum of achieved points from all continual assessments.
