Aims, contents and method of the course
Overview of the solar system and its formation, history of planetary astronomy, movements of planets and moons, geology of all planetary objects in the solar system, as well as asteroids, comets, meteorites etc., impact processes in the solar system
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral or written exam, plus either participation in a field trip (Ries crater in southern Germany) or preparation of an essay on a relevant topic.
