Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Students can apply modern methods of stratigraphy. They master various qualitative and quantitative stratigraphic methods such as lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy and stratigraphic palaeobiology. Students will learn how the subject of paleomagnetism developed and how it is applied to develop magnetostratigraphies, how cycles (long and short) occur in geology, and how to identify them. The students know the challenges and limitations of the methods.
