Aims, contents and method of the course

Topics: Marine sediments and their sources, Biostratigraphy in general and focus on the Quaternary, Deep sea geology and paleoceanography, Dating methods (sclerochronology, stable isotopes, clumped isotopes, Mg/Ca, IP25), Paleoproductivity proxies, How to plan and perform the own research project - from proposal writing through sampling logistics, choise of dating methods, proxies etc...

- Exercises in e.g. how to calibrate 14C data and analyse foraminiferal data with multivariate statistics.
