Classes

The course will be each day from 20.-24.2.2017 between 09:15-16:45. It is mandatory to join 100% of the course.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students do know the basic equations for groundwater flow and transport in 3D space. They do know analytical and numerical methods to solve flow and transport problems. They are able to build a simple groudwater model and do understand boundrary conditions, discretization, calibration and validation of groundwater flow models.

Assessment and permitted materials

During the course exercises with a total of 100 points have to be solved. For the positive completion of the modelling course at least 51 points have to be attained AND 100% of presence at the course (20.-24.2.2017) is mandatory.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

MA ERD 8 (for Master Earth Sciences) or 280215-1 VU PS2 Groundwater Systems (for Master Environmental Sciences)

Examination topics

Students are able to build up an own simple 3D groundwater model.
