Classes

The course take place each day from 19.-23.2.2018 between 09:15-16:45. It is mandatory to join 100% of the course.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students do know the basic equations for groundwater flow and transport in 3D space. They do know analytical and numerical methods to solve flow and transport problems. They are able to build a simple groundwater model and do understand boundary conditions, numerical discretization, calibration and validation of groundwater flow models.

Assessment and permitted materials

During the course, exercises with a total of 100 points have to be solved. For the positive completion at least 51 points have to be attained AND 100% of presence at the course (19.-23.2.2018) is mandatory.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

MA ERD 8 (for Master Earth Sciences) or 280215-1 VU PS2 Groundwater Systems (for Master Environmental Sciences)

Examination topics

Students are able to set up a simple 3D groundwater model from scratch.

Reading list

Will be provided during the course.
