Aims, contents and method of the course
Training in basic experimental techniques by performing selected physics experiments including error analysis and writing documentations.
Assessment and permitted materials
Marks are given for the preparatory work, the performance in the experimental work, and the qualitiy of the reports.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
1. Application of basic knowledge in physics to simple experimental problems.
2. Acquire new knowledge in physics and apply it to new problems.
3. Learn to handle simple measurement devices and tools.
4. Learn to write a protocol of the experimental results.
5. Learn to estimate the accuracy of measurements.
6. Become acquainted with computer-based data acquisition and evaluation.
7. Training in teamwork. Learn to work in small groups.

Examination topics
Work is divided into preparatory eLearning-phases and practical work in the labs (blended learning concept). The practical work is done in 7 units during the semester. At the end of each unit a report on the experiments has to be handed to the teachers.
