Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Training in basic experimental techniques by performing selected physics experiments including error analysis and writing documentations.Based on the level of knowledge and skills which is achieved in the introductory physics lectures, students will enhance experimental skills and delve into several basic physics knowledge.Work is divided into preparatory eLearning-phases and practical work in the labs (blended learning concept). The practical work is done in 7 units during the semester. At the end of each unit a report on the experiments has to be handed to the teachers.
Assessment and permitted materials
Marks are given for the preperation of experimental work, the participation in the couses and the qualitiy of the written reports. Finally there is an experimental exam. Permitted materials: Everything except non-selfmade reports.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To get a positive mark, mou must not be absent more than once. You must collect 8 points minimum at preperation tests. At the final experiment you need 3 out of 5 points (there is a second chance, if necessary).
Examination topics
Basic knowledge and skills in experimental physics, how to deal with uncertainties and errors as well as knowledge in the fields of electricity, optics, heat transport mechanisms.
