Aims, contents and method of the course

2,10 ECTS-Points
basic terms of structural, engineering and geomechanic geology; methods of geotechnical investigations (drillings,seismic, geoelectric, laboratory tests,stability calculations etc.); tunnels and galleries (road-, railway-, water-); basic concept of "New Austrian Tunnel Method" NATM); hydro power plants (arch dams, gravity dams, embarkment dams); foundation conditions; borehole grouting; geodetic and geotechnic mesurements; hydrogeological studies (hydrogeological and complicated geolocical conditions in the Vienna metro tunnel system)
