Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Basics of turbulence, phenomenology of the boundary layer (subdivision, diurnal cycle, etc.), Prandtl layer (Monin-Obukhov theory, TKE budget), surface energy budget, outer boundary layer (characteristic parameters, profiles), numerical schemes for closure.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Understanding of all relevant propierties and processes of the atmospheric boundary layer
Examination topics
Lecture, supported by hand-outs of important figures, tables, formulae. A syllabus will be distributed in the first lecture.
Reading list
Literature list will be distributed in the first lecture. Handouts will be distributed through the Moodle pages of "Uebungen".
