Aims, contents and method of the course
Wood as a tissue with mechanical as well as conducting tasks is preserved since Silurian/Devonian. In very short time a great variety of types developed and occured in different plant groups. A demonstration of this veriety, which can be studied mostly in petrifications, will be topicof this lecture.
