Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture gives basic definitions and an overview on main applications of hydrology as well as on hydrological data and its sources. Main focus: water balances, its elements and their investigation, hydrological prozesses, generation of floods and low waters, hydrological models, hydrological forecasts and warning systems
Special focus: connections to meteorology

If possible a 3h-excursion will be made.

Assessment and permitted materials

examination/test at the end of semester; detailed information at the beginning of the lectures

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The aim is to get an basic understanding on hydrologic processes and the influencing factors in its close connection to meteorological processes.
