Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture provides basic definitions and knowledges on hydrology as well as an overview on hydrological data, data sources and on typical tasks of hydrology. Main focus: water balances, its elements and their investigation, hydrological processes and influencing factors, generation of floods and low flows, hydrological models, hydrological forecasts and warning systems
Special focus: connections to and interaction with meteorology
If possible a 3h-excursion will be held.

Assessment and permitted materials

examination at the end of semester; information about themes for examination will be given during the semester
In addition to the above listed dates, appointments for the examination can be made individually at any time from January 2022 on, also within the next semester.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The aim is to get a basic understanding
- on hydrological processes and water cycle
- the influencing factors and
- its close connection to meteorology.
