Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students acquire knowledge about basic astronomical terms and methods. Students are familiar with the main historical origins of the current astronomical worldview.

The content includes: History of Astronomy, Telescopes and Instruments, Timekeeping and Calendars, Coordinate Systems, Distances, Astronomical and Astrophysical Fundamentals.

Written exam STEOP Modulprüfung at the end of the lectures:
1st date: 09.01.2026, 15:00 - 16:30, UZAII HS3
2nd date: 13.02.2026, 15:00 - 16:30, UZAII HS3
3rd date: 27.03.2026, 15:00 - 16:30, UZAII HS3

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
