Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

NOTE: The lecture will be in person. The first date will be online on the 7.3., where we give some introductions to the course.

Consolidation of astronomical knowledge, presentation, and written report of the own Bachelor studies.

The seminar is in English and German.

Thesis topics will be decided at the start of the semester. See Moodle, there you find a list with thesis topics for download (the list will still be updated during the first weeks).

Note: One can contact a Professor, Postdoc, or PhD candidate at the institute at any time to agree on a topic in advance.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written bachelor thesis to be submitted within the period of grace of the upcoming semester (deadline end of September 2022, first draft needs to be sended in August 2022 to the supervisor). Presenting the bachelor thesis within the seminar (until further notice with online conference). Active participation within the seminar is taken into account for final grading.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Present your thesis within the course (English preferred)
- Submit thesis to Supervisor (deadline end of September 2022)
- 75% compulsory attendance (will be counted online as well)

The thesis will be assessed by the supervisor.
The quality of your thesis presentation will be part of the grading.
Active participation during the course can positively influence the grading.
