Aims, contents and method of the course

ECTS: 2 credit points
The operation of advanced meteorological instruments (e.g. disdrometer, micro rain radar, energy balance system, etc.) will be discussed in this course. This contains an introduction of the physical principles behind the used measurement method, the proper set-up and operation of the systems, the comprehensive knowledge of the device specific evaluation software right up to questions about the interruption-free power supply. The student should gain solid skills in handling the instruments and interpretation of the recorded data.
