Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The weekly astrophysics research colloquium gives a chance for members of our institute to hear about exciting new developments in astrophysics from world class researchers who are visiting Vienna. These hour long presentations span the diverse set of research topics undertaken by members of our institute. Students enrolled in this seminar series will get a first hand look at some of the most important developments occurring in astrophysics research, and a chance to discuss these with the visiting speaker. All presentations will be in English.

Assessment and permitted materials

In addition to attending the weekly talks, at the end of the semester each student will write a short 4 page report on one of the colloquium talks which they found interesting.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum attendance of 75%, and submission of the report on one of the talks will make up the entirety of the grade for this seminar course.
