Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Galaxies are formed and evolve in regions of different densities and are affected by their environments by mutual interactions. The galaxy motion in the cosmos also leads to mutual galaxy interactions and to galaxy assembly to massive complexes, like e.g. galaxy groups and clusters. These effects change the evolution of galaxies and lead to morphological transformations. In this course we will study the environments of galaxies, the different environmental effects, and their consequences on the evolution of galaxies of different masses.
