Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Basic concepts of science communication will be presented: public, strategies, tools, evaluation. The VU will be very interactive, with short weekly projects based on the content presented on a specific date to be discussed in the following session. Students will gain experience in developing a variety of science communication projects in different formats and aimed at different audiences, either working in groups or independently.

Assessment and permitted materials

In every lecture there will be a short introduction to a specific subject: strategies, tools, evaluation. With this information, students should develop a short project/homework to be handed in a week later. Some short projects will be presented at the beginning of each lecture. Active participation and feedback is very important.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students should attend 80% of the lessons to pass the course.
Active participation (peer feedback and comments during lectures) - 30%
Small projects (7 in total) during the semester - 10% each

Examination topics

There will be continuous examinations during the semester. Information given during the course, reading material, and participation during the lectures will be part of the examination.

Reading list

Reading material, videos, will be handed in during the semester in Moodle.
