Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Thematic maps play an important role in the geosciences and especially in geography, spatial research and spatial planning. Spatial issues can be optimally and purposefully illustrated, transported and communicated with the help of geovisualisation. Complex information is thus optimally processed and implemented through clear cartographic formalisation steps. This course focuses on the areas of cartographic visualisation of thematic issues and aspects of the design of cartographic products. The most important methodological approaches for map design are formalised and illustrated with practical examples.Interactive teaching, discussion of examples, practical exercises
Assessment and permitted materials
The grade is composed of 40% of the submitted term paper and a total of 60% of the 6-8 digital work assignments. A positive degree is given with an overall grade of > 50% as well as attendance in the course units (two absences allowed).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
