Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The exercises on landscape ecology are based on the lecture "Introduction to landscape ecology" (WS 2015/16) and the completion of the lecture prior this tutorial class is desirable. The focus of this course lies on the integration of topography - soil - vegetation - land use in selected areas in the vicinity of Vienna. After completion of this course, the students should be able to identify and record the complex interrelations in landscapes in the field. They will learn to map and describe these interactions.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation, active participation, mapping and describing the results in small working groups.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The presence at all meetings in the seminar room and the field day is compulsory. The final mark is composed of the following parts: presentation of chosen topic (25%), active participation (5%), map of landscape and vegetation (20%), final report (50%).
