Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Viennas urban planning strategies define the Danube River Area as one of the target areas of urban development. The Waterfront Vienna strategy tries to (re-)connect the Vienna city center with the cities' various bodies of water. It consists of housing and real estate development along the Danube River as well as of improved public spaces for leisure and recreation, including better access to the river. The main areas of planning and developing Waterfront Vienna are the Donaukanal, the former Nordbahnhof Area, the Danube City, and the Alte Donau. Next to these main areas there are the South-Eastern riverbanks, the Vienna Marina and the Vienna Harbor Freudenau.
