Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Climate change, the exit of the carbon economy and the transition from a car-oriented to a sustainable transport system can be considered as some of the big challenges of the 21st century. Urban and regional planning has to cope with these challenges trough developing solutions and strategies. The project seminar will discuss examples of good practice and develop concepts for selected problem situations in metropolitan regions and rural areas. In particular, themes like e-mobility, influencing traffic mode choice, enhancement of bike and pedestrian traffic as well as securing of public transport in rural areas are under examination. In spatial respect, to Austria will be given special emphasis, but good practice examples from other countries will be included as well.
Assessment and permitted materials
The marking will be derived from the written reports and from the presentations in the seminar.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Minimum requirements for success derive from the specific type of course, i.e. a Seminar. Especially, this means a regular and active participation and a completion of requested progress reports.
