Aims, contents and method of the course

Aim:
Students will receive the follwing competences:
- they know the rules of good sceintific praxis and can implement them.
- they will recognize and understand the inherent interrelationships in climate change and respective risk research and can teach them to others.
- they will be able to transfer this aquired knowledge to other questions.

Content:
In this seminar we will adress the fundamental aspects of climate change in the context of risk research.
In the first sessions we will repeat the basics of good scientific praxis and develop your research questions, which you will present with power point. Discussions and excercises will consolidate the knowledge.

Method:
Seminar with presentations, discussions, and exercises.

Assessment and permitted materials

The final mark refers to:
- regular active participation (10%),
- presentation (30%)
- slides (15%), and
- written essay (45%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirement:
- regular attendance (minimum 80%)
- all parts need to be positiv evaluated

Grading key:
>=88 Points: excellent
75-87 Points: good
63-75 Points: okay
50-62 Points: sufficient
< 50 Points: not sufficient
