Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of this seminar is a critical understanding of patterns, processes and effects of economic globalization in a geographical perspective. The program of the course follows mainly the well-known textbook ‘Global shift: Mapping the Changing Contours of the World Economy’ by Peter Dicken (6th ed. London: Sage 2011).
Assessment and permitted materials
Assessment is based on active participation in classes, final seminar paper and oral presentation.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
In the seminar basic steps in the process of writing a scientific paper will be practiced: (1) critical text reading, (2) specification of research themes, (3) presentation of results, (4) scientific text writing.
Examination topics
Joint reading of basic literature, presentation of results, scientific text writing as homework
